The Ministry of Environment of Angola promotes a seminar on Kyoto Protocol

Luanda 17 January 2009 - The Environment Ministry will organise next Monday, in Luanda, a top level seminar aimed at defining the forms and instruments to implement the Kyoto Protocol in Angola.

At the forum, which will be held in one of the capital city's hotel, it will be presented a project that creates a body called   Autoridade Nacional de Angola (Angolan National Authority), which will monitor the fulfilment of the goals in the mentioned document.

The seminar will prepare the first national communication on climate adaptation and the national programme of adaptation for the implementation of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Angola ratified the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in May 2000 and the Kyoto Protocol in March 2007.
