Workshop on elaboration of project proposals for HIV and AIDS programmes

Luanda, 3 November 2008 - UNDP Angola, in partnership with the Network of AIDS Service Organizations (ANASO), has trained more than 160 participants from from 95 NGOs working in all provinces of Angola, in the following key areas: identification of problems, planning of social projects, finance administration, and monitoring and assessment of results. Seminars took place in the provinces of Benguela, Huila, Luanda and Malange between October and November 2008.

UNDP Angola, through its Global Fund Project, will invest around 2 million dollars in projects of NGOs working on the response to HIV in Angola. A new call for proposals is open until 24th of November 2008, and all NGOs working on HIV and AIDS activities in Angola are invited to submit thier project proposals.

During the second Workshop, NGOs from Luanda, Zaire, Cabinda, and Bengo were also trained in the 4 key areas. The two forthcoming Workshops will cover NGOs from remaining provinces.
